Hotel Folgosa Douro - Armamar

The service at this hotel was phenomenal. Staff members went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The hotel sits right across the street from the river and boasts very nice views.

The only thing that was missing was that the hotel is not within walking distance of many shops or restaurants. It is a bit remote, which can be great if you want peace and quiet, or not so great if you want to be in the center of the action.

The location of the hotel with the amazing riverside view of Douro river and all the surrounding vineyards landscape. The hotel is new, confortable, with nice decoration, free internet and very helpful staff.

The menu at the restaurant is quite common without presenting many typical Portuguese dishes but with the awarded DOC Restaurant just ahead, competition is not easy and maybe they decided to have an alternative offer.

Very good location for visiting Douro region. Good room and facilities at the hotel. Very good value for money.

Excellent Douro River location in the heart of the port wine growing region. Good center for further exploration. Comfortable room. Free internet in common areas. Welcoming glass of port. Air-conditioning in rooms (required as river facing rooms get very hot in the sun). Just the other side of the road and right next to the river is the gourmet restaurant doc which is really worth a try if you can afford it!

Admittedly there were surprisingly few clients there when we were there (July midweek) but the place (which is a modern building) seemed rather lacking in ambiance. In particular the restaurant staff need to show a bit more enthusiasm.

Rooms are nicely decorated and we liked the river view terrace that some rooms have. In house restaurant had nice local food but not as sophisticated as the hotel atmosphere would suggest. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was adequate with lots of choices served in the restaurant.

The entry is a bit hard to navigate and is quite steep. Limited parking directly in front of the hotel just on the street.

The Hotel Folgosa Douro is a very nice hotel very well situated between Régua and Pinhão. It's very easy to visit The Douro Region from this hotel. The quality of the services and the cleaness of the rooms are at the top range. The hotel is located in front of the magnificient restaurant doc of the Chef Rui Paula.

The hotel is right on the road although the road is pretty quiet and the rooms are set back.

the location of the hotel is excellent, the cleaness of the room is perfect, the bed is so comfortable.

Breakfast was served 30 minutes later than advertised. Water sports on the river (jet skis) directly in front of the hotel made a dreadful noise all afternoon - almost until sunset & even the double glazing in the room could not exclude the noise. The "dream view" is more imaginary than real!

Pefect room with a view on the top floor, Really helpful reception organised a wonderful wime tour.

Unfortunately the food was poor and there is no other option in the village at weekends without driving.

Dream view was a little misleading. Hotel some what dated. No WiFi in room. Gps had a problem locating Hotel.

Wonderful location, very nice complimentary Port wine at arrival. Rooms are nicely decorated and quite modern. We enjoyed our stay very much.
